Alan Ritchson is having the biggest moment of his career. With a growing film slate and a hit streaming series, his momentum shows no signs of slowing down. Ritchson is set to star alongside Owen Wilson in Runner, an action thriller arriving in theaters on September 11. Earlier this year, his Netflix debut came in the form of War Machine, a sci-fi feature that quickly became one of the platform’s most-watched titles. A sequel is already underway, with both Ritchson and director Patrick Hughes expected to return for round two.
Still, one project stands out above the rest in terms of anticipation: Reacher. Ritchson has confirmed that Reacher Season 4 will premiere on August 12. That same announcement brought additional news — a spin-off centered on Maria Sten’s character, Neagley, will follow roughly a month later on September 16, with Ritchson also appearing in that installment. Prime Video has since released the first official poster for Season 4, offering the earliest look yet at Ritchson’s return to the role.
Season 4 draws its story from Gone Tomorrow, the thirteenth entry in Lee Child’s novel series. A fifth season has already been greenlit, and with thirty books available as source material, the franchise appears far from running dry.
Details on Season 5’s timeline remained unclear until recently. While promoting his upcoming film Motor City, Ritchson revealed that production on the new season begins the following Monday, setting up a plausible return before the end of next year. That pace would mark a notable achievement for the franchise since its 2022 debut, 2024 stands as the only year without a new season, a rare consistency for a series of this scale in today’s streaming landscape.
