Rockstar Games released three new screenshots of Vice City. These screenshots indicate that Leonida was designed to be active and populated, rather than simply visually appealing. Rockstar released these screenshots during an extremely busy period for the game.
On October 8, Rockstar intended to announce some information regarding GTA 6 radio stations, along with what the city of Vice City looks like at night and its nightlife. However, a significant leak occurred prior to that announcement.
With just over 25 minutes of video being leaked prior to the release of the official trailer, many of those fans who viewed the video were able to watch Jason complete several racing events, along with a mission, as well as a couple of in-game cutscenes that included both Jason and Lucia.
Although leaks such as this may diminish the excitement surrounding an anticipated release because fans have seen a portion of the game, official trailers tend to offer a more polished experience. Additionally, the new screenshots that were released will likely create as much hype for the game as possible, especially with the release date approaching.
All three of these screenshots represent a different side of the city. The first image has the best mood of all three. It features a high-end car driving through a neon-lit section of the city at night. This image also includes some reflection of the colors from the neon lights on the wet surface of the road as well as other surrounding objects.

This screenshot is also interesting because it demonstrates how the environment and the light can combine to produce an atmospheric, cinematic quality.
The second screenshot is much busier than the first. In this screenshot, there is a highway full of cars and people. This indicates how much activity and how many vehicles and people Rockstar plans to include in the game’s open-world environment.

The final screenshot illustrates a public event taking place within Vice City. In this screenshot, there are numerous NPCs and cars parked in front of what appears to be a shopping center or office complex. This image serves as a reminder that although players may not always be present to witness events occurring in Vice City, there are always things happening behind the scenes.

All three pictures are pointing to the exact same thing: density. Clearly, Rockstar wants a city that will have constant activity occurring at any time, such as when someone is driving on a highway or passing by a party.
The screenshots were released simultaneously with the official radio reveal. Both releases complement each other. While a screenshot of a neon-lit city at night or a packed nightclub can be visually striking, sound is essential to complete the scene, with music and environmental sounds contributing significantly to making a city appear as a living environment rather than just a background. This has long been an area where the Grand Theft Auto series excels.
There are 6 different stations: contemporary Latin music, country, African music, classic metal, pop, and southern rap/hip-hop. GTA 5 had 17 radio stations with over 240 songs. Six stations is a much smaller number.
However, Rockstar did add something else to the mix – On Demand Podcasts. These provide players with more choices regarding what they want to hear. Also, both Jason and Lucia will be able to enjoy the radio/podcasts on foot using headphones/earbuds connected to their smartphones.
No longer does the music/talking stop when you exit your vehicle. This will make the city seem similar regardless of whether you are on foot or behind the wheel.
The full list of tracks remains unknown at this time. Rockstar has provided information regarding the number of radio stations and what type of genre each will play. However, they have yet to provide a complete list of tracks. Previously reported, Rockstar indicated that it does not intend to release the entire game’s soundtrack prior to its release date.
Therefore, much of the music may remain hidden from view for the foreseeable future. Radio station titles have been leaked via video footage; however, those titles are considered unverified until confirmed by Rockstar.
The screenshots and radio news, in combination, provide a uniform image of what to expect from Vice City. The city appears to be very crowded, full of color, reactive, with many vehicles moving around, crowds of people walking through the streets, wet sidewalks, and a music track that continues when a player gets out of their vehicle onto the sidewalk.
With only two months left before the release, it appears that Rockstar is making use of these small announcements to generate hype for the game by providing a single feature or aspect of the game each time.
Upon the arrival of Jason and Lucia in Vice City on November 19, it seems that there will be a large number of vehicles, people, neon signs, and audio effects present within the city. Players will learn if this vision of the city matches up with what has been shown in the pictures at some point during the first week of the game being available.
