Netflix in 2026 will have a lot to offer for those of us who like explosions, hand-to-hand combat, high-stakes missions, revenge plots, spy stories, shootout scenes, and people who always seem to end up in situations where they cannot run from them.

The past year has provided subscribers with a selection of cinematic options including but not limited to American-produced high-concept blockbusters, South Korean-produced psychological/thriller narratives, Indian-produced high-octane action-adventure narratives, and other foreign-produced narratives. While many of these selections were produced on a large scale (i.e., had significant budgets), others utilized a much smaller budget to produce films based upon real-world scenarios such as criminal enterprises, retaliatory acts, and/or surviving life-threatening circumstances.

Netflix’s 2026 action line-up has the advantage of having variety; you can jump from a military sci-fi adventure to a gritty crime thriller, switch over to a Korean spy tale, and finish off with a fast-paced Indian action film.

If you need to find an action movie to view over the course of the next few days, then below is a list of ten action films that were released during the year 2026 and should be added to your must-see list.

1) War Machine

war machine

The film War Machine will be released by Netflix in 2026. This film combines elements of science fiction and military action, which makes it somewhat unique among the other action films being produced today.

The film begins as an Army Ranger training exercise starring Alan Ritchson, Dennis Quaid, and Stephan James. However, after the training exercise gets underway, things quickly go out of control as the soldiers find themselves being hunted down by a massive alien-like killing machine.

The fundamental concept behind this is straightforward; a group of elite soldiers, who have been preparing to participate in a standard training event, suddenly finds themselves in a struggle to survive an enemy that far exceeds any prior expectations.

War Machine is unique because it blends military combat with science fiction. There are soldiers, weapons, survival scenarios, and mass destruction; however, at the heart of the story lies an unusual and alien-like threat.

War Machine is the perfect movie to watch this weekend if you like watching how average soldiers react when they find themselves in situations that they never expected.

2) The Rip

10 Action Movies on Netflix Released in 2026 That You Should Watch

The Rip is a unique type of action film because there are no superheroes or futuristic technology. Rather, the film focuses on law enforcement officials, criminals, cash flow, and the issue of trustworthiness.

The movie features the acting talents of Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Steven Yeun, as well as Teyana Taylor, Kyle Chandler, and Scott Adkins.

The plot is centered on a group of Miami police officers who find several million dollars in currency in an abandoned stash house. While finding this much cash is certainly a great accomplishment for the department, things do not stay simple.

The larger the quantity of money, the harder it will be for your teammates to believe in you.

The Rip becomes more complex here. It’s not just about the chase and shooting at the bad guys. There is some serious internal conflict going on among the members of the gang. They know there’s a lot of money in front of them, but they’re getting pressure from outside sources as well.

The movie will be made available for viewing around the world via Netflix beginning on January 16, 2026. According to Netflix, the film is a dark, gritty action-thriller that has crime and heist elements.

The Rip would be a great film to watch if you enjoy crime films that build up slowly in terms of suspense until they finally culminate in a big shootout or an action sequence.

3) Humint

humint

Humint is a new addition to the long list of top-notch action thrillers that have come out of South Korea, and it is also the latest international spy tale to hit Netflix.

The film takes place in and near the city of Vladivostok and tells the story of a South Korean agent who was sent there to investigate a drug ring, but finds himself working with a North Korean agent as well.

The cast of Humint, which features Zo In-sung, Park Jeong-min, and Park Hae-joon, blends elements of spy, crime, self-interest, and physicality.

One of the aspects of the film that gives it a unique flavor is the location. The director chose to put most of the action in the cold, winter-like environment of Vladivostok instead of the traditional spy-movie settings. This helped to set a darker tone for the overall story.

This film has gun battles, vehicle pursuits, and hand-to-hand combat; however, the director takes time to develop relationships among the characters so that the action does not appear as though it is simply a continuous string of explosions; rather, the action has some form of meaning.

Netflix’s premiere of Humint was global, taking place on March 31, 2026. Humint is described by Netflix as a “Korean Action & Spy Movie”.

Humint should be included in any viewer’s list of movies to watch if they like Korean thriller films filled with spies, crimes, and lots of action.

4) Apex

apex

The thought of traveling alone through the remote areas of Australia on what should be a demanding solo trek, only to find out that another person is hunting you, is terrifying.

The above is how Apex was set up with Charlize Theron, Taron Egerton, and Eric Bana as stars.

Theron will portray Sasha, a woman who goes on an extreme adventure in the wilds of Australia. The adventure is a self-imposed challenge that transforms into a struggle for survival when she is pursued by a merciless hunter.

Apex is so successful because it uses the physical environment as a character in its own right. The film has large areas of forest, cliffside, riverbank, and vast open spaces that give the film a sense of isolation.

The story of this movie does not feature a large number of different characters; rather, it emphasizes the relationship between the hunter (the predator) and the prey (the preyed-upon).

Charlize Theron has done several other action films; therefore, fans who like Theron’s past action film characters will likely be pleased with this one.

Netflix has classified “Apex” as a “survivalist thriller,” and places the title in the Action/Adventure category. The movie was made available to subscribers via Netflix starting in April of 2026.

If you enjoy films with more survival/action and chase scenes as opposed to conventional military-based films, then Apex may be right up your alley.

5) The Debt Collector

the debt collector

If you are looking for a darker and more grounded film, then I would suggest checking out The Debt Collector.

This Thai action thriller features Nadech Kugimiya, Daou Pittaya Saechua and Chaiwat Thongsaeng.

A former collector for delinquent accounts is diagnosed with a fatal illness. Rather than leave his past behind him, he returns to the underground world of crime to protect the victims of a brutal group.

This is what gives the film two very distinct aspects. One is the physical action, and the other is how the main character deals with the repercussions of his previous actions.

This is an action/revenge film that focuses on illegal lending, loan sharking, violence, and revenge. It does not appear to be an easy-going action/adventure; it appears to have a more serious, dark tone.

Netflix has called the movie a Thai crime and action film. On July 23, 2026, the film made its international debut on Netflix. The film was well-received around the world; in fact, the film achieved Top 10 status on the Global Charts of Netflix.

If you like dark and gritty revenge films, then The Debt Collector should be added to your watch list.

6) Sniper: No Nations

If you like to watch an action movie with snipers, military operations, and survival in the middle of enemy territory, then Sniper: No Nation is a must-see for you.

Chad Michael Collins, Ryan Robbins, and Tom Berenger are in the cast of this movie.

A sniper and his father become enemies of the state and must save other soldiers from mercenaries who are tracking them down.

This provides a solid foundation for the military thriller aspect of the film. The characters are not only fighting an outside threat, but they are also trying to stay alive as they are being pursued.

Snipers add an extra level of excitement to the action since they are unable to rely solely on close-range attacks. Patiently waiting for the right moment, keeping your distance, and having a plan of attack are all essential elements of the storyline.

7) Mission: Cross 2

mission cross 2

Mission: Cross 2 has both an action-comedy element to it if you would prefer something less serious.

Hwang Jung-min and Yum Jung-ah return to play Kang-mu and Mi-seon, respectively.

The married couple will be going on a dangerous assignment related to Korea’s cultural heritage. A group of people is trying to steal important items from Korea, so the couple has to team up with some people they have never worked with before to prevent this from happening.

With its mixture of marriage-couple humor and high-octane action, Mission: Cross 2 has a very distinct tone compared to some of the more serious films that have come out in recent years, like The Rip or The Debt Collector.

The original Mission: Cross had established itself as being both an action-comedy film, and Netflix decided that the next installment would be even larger than the previous one; it would feature even more action and comedy along with a different kind of treasure hunt.

If you’re not looking for a serious action film but are instead looking for an entertaining movie with fighting, humor, and adventure, then I highly recommend watching this film.

8) The Furious: Pertaruhan Maruah

The Furious

The Furious: Pertaruhan Maruah will bring its fights into the boxing ring.

The cast of this Malaysian movie includes Zul Ariffin, Sky Iskandar, and Ikmal Amry. It is about two brothers who were separated but are now together again and have to fight off a new, growing fighter who wants to ruin what their late dad did.

In addition to providing a unique context for the film, the boxing environment offers a different form of action. Rather than being driven by huge set-pieces, the excitement in this film is generated through physical competition, rivalries, and the historical relationship of each character.

The family tie to the story creates an emotional element. The conflicts in the story are more than just about winning a fight; they relate to family, pride, and the memory of their father.

Netflix has categorized this film in both Action/Adventure and Boxing Sports categories.

If you like sports-based drama and boxing-themed movies like Creed or Warrior, this may offer a different perspective on how you view traditional action-oriented films.

9) Baby Do Die Do

baby do die do

For an offbeat option, Baby Do Die Do is a blend of action, crime, mystery, and dark comedy.

This film includes Huma Qureshi, Sikander Kher, and Chunky Panday.

The main character is a deaf, non-verbal female who has two sides to her; she works as a contract killer. When she was working on finding the person who killed her sister, she had a bad contract job that put everything about her work in jeopardy.

The premise itself is what sets this film apart from your average action-thriller.

Baby Do Die Do is about someone who has a secret job, and because of this, they have a personal reason to become involved in a world that can be very dangerous; therefore, the film does not follow a typical hero.

If you enjoy action-packed movies that are also filled with dark humor and have many surprise endings, then I suggest you add this to your to-watch list.
